Family Time

If wishes came true I would be right there with all of you. I Love the beach with its crashing waves and ever changing scenery. I think it is so awesome that we can share in your everyday life through e-mail. Each time I check Katie and Jareds Blog, or get pictures from Elizabeth I want to get on an airplane and come back to enjoy time with all of you. There you are doing all the touristy things and spending time with each other and we are looking forward to the time when you come back west and we can join in.

Keep making memories....they last a lifetime...

5 Funny Old Ladies Catching Up On Life

What a fine time we had today. The Front Runner proved to be a relaxing way to travel. After finding a parking place, figuring out how to get a ticket from a not too complicated machine, unless it is your first time, we climed aboard. A delightful one hour trip from Ogden to Salt Lake. Upon arrival we boarded TRAX and stopped downtown Main Street. Boy what a shock! The mall on both sides of the street has been demolished and it looks like a war zone, just huge holes with barricades and partial buildings. We walked around in awe of the change to the downtown we remembered a few months ago.

In comparison the Salt Lake Temple, Joseph Smith Building, Conference Center and the Plaza stand out like a beacon. The flowers around the area give a distinctive grandeur to the scene. Such a feeling of peace in a bustling construction area.

Salt Lake is really seeing a "Downtown Rising". This is expected to be a 5 year undertaking and cost 1.5 billion dollars. There are many new places to visit in Salt Lake now and it will be so fun to take Elizabeth, Callie and Scott to some of them. The new Library with the Children's area should be fun for Callie. My neighbor has told me of so many places that are kid friendly, so while Brian is here doing rotation we will explore.

My thoughts flashed to Marrian, John and the boys as I was gazing at the Temple. With John far away in Iraq and Marrian and the boys in Germany I thought of the day when they return and walk around the area. I hope all of you are keeping your prayers constant for our troops fighting for freedom the world over. What a comfort it is to know that God is watching over all of us. As long as He is at the helm we can find peace and happiness.

It's a dog's life !

Well she did it! She got a new car and of course that means I had to forfeit my coveted spot in the old Buick. I have now been banished to the back seat and strapped in like the little ones. Yep it's back to the doggy car seat for me. However I did get to go for a ride up the canyon last night. We had all the windows and the moon roof open....pretty cool if I do say so. We're excited to take you for a ride. Last night I had to ride in the back with Louise VanDeGraff but it was ok because she is really quite a character and explained everything to me as we traveled along.

Sorry about that......SKYELER graduated on May 19th not June.

And now it's Skyeler's big day

This is one I regret being away from home for. Skyeler graduated from Bonneville High on June 19, 2008. We were in New York and missed the big event. Mike just emailed me a couple of pictures today so check this guy out. Skyeler has excelled this year in academics as well as Hockey. He plays a mean game. With mission plans in the very near future I guarantee you I will not miss that big day.

High School Graduation

Bailey graduated from Brighton High School June 3, 08 with a 4.0 and her CNA. She will be attending Westminister this fall and plans to go into their nursing program. Bailey is so excited about furthering her career. She is as talented as she is beautiful.

A picture is worth a thousand words..

Look who came to grandma's house. KC was so excited to see Corbon. They played so cute together, but then of course KC thinks he is human. I love it when any of my grandchildren come to visit and now that there are little ones it is even better. The time went all too fast and they were on their way to Logan to work and play with friends.

Richard, Bonnie, Becky and Ben gave me wonderful present on Sunday. A digital photo frame. It is so much fun and I can't wait to get a bunch of photos ready to use. This morning Jason inserted the card from the camera, containing 87 pictures we had taken of Corbon, and it was great watching them over and over. After I get all the little ones pictures on one card I can just watch them all day and it will be like a mini visit with everyone. I am afraid I will need lots of assistance from Vickie with this new project. She guides me along, buys and install things I have never heard of and haven't any idea how to work....
