NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

The Taylors have adopted a couple of pigmy goats, they named them Jasper and Jasmine. Talk about cute! It is just a much fun watching Bonnie watch them, as it is watching the goats.

WHIRLWIND WEEK

What a week we had when Elizabeth, Callie, and Scott came to visit. Added to the joy was the arrival of Jason, Taya and Corbon. The pictures speak for themselves. I guess the Lord knew what he was doing when he gave us children when we are young. It is great just to be able to sit back and watch and enjoy while mommy and daddy do all the work. What adorable treasures the babies are. Whitney, Tyler, Ben, Becky, Vickie and I, along with Jason, Taya and Corbon went to Scott's blessing on August 23rd. Brian gave him a beautiful blessing. It was good to see Debbie and John and Brian. This is the first time we have seen Brian since they came west, he is so busy at the hospital it was great that he could get a little time to attend and enjoy his whole family.

JUST WANDERING AROUND TOWN

Ben decided to humor his old grandma and go to the Egyptian theatre to hear the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ. After passing by yet another painted pony, we entered the theatre and were delighted when the organ master stopped to chat with us. I told him that I had just heard Ben play an incredibly difficult Rachmaninoff piece, and then he proceeded to enlighten Ben on the beauty of music and the difference between piano and organ. After the concert I thought the least I could do would be to take him to lunch at Iggys. Ben is a delight to be with and a perfect gentleman in all respects. I am one lucky grandma.

Today my heart was filled with gratitude for another amazing grandson who is starting to prepare for his upcoming mission. Skyler was ordained an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by his father. Tears flowed freely during the amazing blessing Mike pronounced upon him. My heart is full of gratitude and I am so grateful for the priesthood of God, for honorable men who uphold it. Skyeler can put his papers in sometime in November and hopefully Mike will still be bishop when it is time for him to leave. What a wonderful privelege to be able to send two sons out while serving as bishop. Our cup runneth over!

BERT GOES TO CAMP

It didn't take Bert long to figure out how to enjoy "Girls Camp." It is really simple! Lots of kisses, coax someone to share their drink, enjoy the surroundings by getting down and dirty and then sack out while everyone else cleans up. Guys always catch on quicker than gals . Vickie always fits right in and keeps the girls and leaders spell bound with her tales.

A PERFECT DAY

I just returned from Twin Falls, Idaho where a few of us went to the open house of the new Temple. 43,000 tickets were given out for the open house, the dedication, in four sessions, will be Sunday, August 24th. Our tour guide was so humble and he became rather emotional at a few places in the Temple. What a wonderful opportunity for the people, not of our faith, to be able to come inside to see and hear a little about the reason for a temple and what is accomplished within those hallowed wall.

It is indeed a beautiful House of God and we are so privileged to be able to go there and worship.

PAINTED PONIES & SUNSHINE

Hi everyone! Time sure flies when you are having fun....

Becky and I spent some time checking out Farmers Market and the painted horses. Washington Blvd. has alot of statues lining the streets and placed around the amphitheatre. The art work is really beautiful, even KC was impressed. After the 24th parade they had a special showing of "Covered Wagons" at the Egyptian Theatre. This silent movie was shown in 1924 when the theatre first opened. The theatre was recently fully restored to its original beauty, that along with addition of the magnificent Mighty Wurlitzer Organ made this silent movie a delight. I loved the expression on the faces of the actors. The older gentleman playing the organ was amazing, he kept up the pace and feeling of the movie so well that you really did not need words to understand what was taking place. One buriel scene a little girl was shown playing a violin, the organ sounded just like beautiful a violin. Fun experience.....

Vickie is having lots of fun with her new pup. Yesterday we went to the park with Bert and KC and it was such a delight. Bert kept getting KC's leash and leading him along. What a funny rolly polly dog he is. Vickie brought along a bubble machine and they had lots of fun chasing bubbles, KC is much better at it than Bert, but maybe the little ball of fluff will get the hang of it before long.

I trust all of you are enjoying the summer as much as we are, sun and all. We are now looking forward to having fun times with Callie and Scott - oh and of course Elizabeth and maybe a minute or two with Brian if his schedule allows.
